Post quarto, printed in double columns. Engraved Frontispiece entitled “Going to the Church”, engraved titleand 35 steel engraved plates designed by A.H.Wray and engraved by J. Rogers. Full tan straight-grained morocco with gilt titles to spine and cross motif in gilt and blind to boards. Spine slightly sunned and edges lightly scuffed. Ownership inscription dated 1856 to first blank; second blank creased with 2-inch closed tear. A little minor scattered light foxing, mainly to plate edges, otherwise contents clean. A Very Good copy.
 
Book of prayer with notes by Piggott, the Rector of Dunstable in Bedfordshire, intended for use throughout the British Empire and dedicated to Queen Victoria. A handsome copy, intended for reading at a lectern, more commonly found as astanderd quarto or octavo.
